Egyptian Choreography
1. Pure Egyptian Dance - Past & Present 12:30-2:30 pm
Technique, Combinations &
Drills
The stages and streets of
Cairo, then and now. Astryd brings you her latest inspirations - all
reflecting Egyptian dance from classic to modern, balady, shaabi, and
Tarab! Techniques, steps, drills and combinations. This workshop focuses
on varied movements to use in many settings, refining Egyptian techniques,
and drills to increase muscle memory. Directly correlates to the following
choreography workshop, preparing you with the techniques necessary.
2. Classic Egyptian Choreography
3 - 5 pm
A fabulous, brand new, original choreography
once again highlighting authentic Egypt in gestures, lyrics, steps and
feelings. Strong, passionate movement delivered with precise Oriental
technique show off the sweet and sultry style of this engaging Egyptian
dance. Full choreography notes and lyric translation provided, music
available.
3. Light meal (chicken, rice, salad or vegan)
& performance at PenaPachamama 7 pm
